Brasiliansk cavaquinhostjärna João Felippe

Finally we can now see a collaboration between two brilliant duo constellations influenced by brazilian music. Amazing instrument combination and innovative arrangements mixed with brilliant improvisations. They do a really deep dive into the brazilian music culture, playing Tico tico and Aldeia de Ogum but also tuuches the swedish folk tradition by playing Uti vår hage or Visa från Utanmyra.

In the summer of 2022, the duo Forslund - Lindholm (SE) and the duo Fred Warnby (SE) & Joao Felippe (BR) met on a jazz club stage in Örebro. They did their first tour together 2023. At some point in life they have all studied brazilian music in Rio de Janeiro, which is how they grow their genuine interest in brazilian music culture. Since 2019, Forslund/Lindholm has developed a unique sound with challenging arrangements for saxophone, flute and marimba with repertoire from Brazil and Erika's own brazilian-influenced compositions. At the same time,Fred och Joao have worked with traditional swedish songs and brazilian songs based on brazilian arrangements on percussion and cavaquinho with great inspiration from, among others artists like Gilberto Gil.
